Why heat pump makes sense here

Heat pump dryers use lower temperatures and recycle the warm air through a closed loop, which is easier on the fabric of your clothes and much easier on the electricity meter. Older vented dryers throw hot air out through a hose; conventional condensers dump heat back into the utility room. A heat pump does neither. Clothes come out warm rather than baking hot, colours hold up better over the years, and the drum cycle is quieter enough that you can run it in the evening without waking half the house.

Questions we get asked

Q: Why is it A++ and also Class D — which is right?
A: Both. The A++ rating is under the old EU energy label, and Class D is on the new (rescaled) label from March 2021. It's exactly the same machine — the scale is just harder now.

Q: Does it need to be vented?
A: No. It's a condenser dryer with an internal water tank; you empty the tank after each cycle, or plumb it to a drain if you'd rather.

Q: Can I stack it on a washing machine?
A: Yes, with the correct Hoover stacking kit (sold separately). Only stack it on a Hoover or matching-sized machine, and always use a proper kit — don't rest it on top on its own.

Q: How long is a typical cycle?
A: Around 2 to 3 hours for a full 9kg cotton load. Smaller loads on the Quick 30 programme dry in around 30-40 minutes.
